Scarlet and Violet provided a slew of new Pokemon to discover, so here are the top ones to pick up in the Ranked Battle Stadium mode.
Despite the fact that some Pokemon lovers may still enjoy everything Scarlet and Violet has to offer with its three extensive storylines, there is still much more to learn.
The Ranked Battle Stadium has been accessible since December, and players have been climbing up the ladder. Season 3 of Ranked Battle Stadium began on February 1 and introduced new guidelines to competitive Pokemon play.
Given the competitive nature of the Scarlet and Violet modes, you'll want to choose the finest Pokemon in the Ranked Battle Stadium. Luckily, we've compiled a list of which Pokemon you should prepare to succeed in Ranked battles.
Scarlet & Violet Battle Stadium mode has the best Pokemon to use.
The third season of the Ranked Battle Stadium will run from February 1 to March 31. The meta has changed considerably since its introduction, and the list of the best Pokemon to use is more apparent now than it was in Series 1.
From the new Generation 9 Pokemon that appeared in Scarlet and Violet, there are several viable Pokemon to use in Ranked.
Paradox Pokemon from Series 2 have finally been removed from Ranked Battles and may be used freely. However, the Treasures of Ruin remain banned in Ranked Battles, which is why we decided not to include them on the list.
Annihilapee
Annihilape is proving to be one of the greatest new Pokemon battling moves. Rage Fist is completely overpowered as the move's power increases by 50 every time the Pokemon is hit.
In combination with Bulk Up and Rest, this Chesto Berry set will allow players to set up a late-game sweep.
The Fire Tera Type will be helpful in granting Annihalape immunity from Will-O-Wisp as well as in preventing incoming Fairy-types from trying to catch you off guard.
- Ability: Defiant
- Nature: Careful
- Item: Chesto Berry
- Tera Type: Fire
- Moveset: Bulk Up / Drain Punch / Rage Fist / Rest
Gholdengo
Gholdengo is a very versatile Pokemon, and there are several sets Scarlet & Violet players can use. Gholdengo is protected from any status moves thanks to the Good as Gold ability, which is vital in the Pokemon's ability to sleep.
Gholdengo is perhaps the best spin blocker in Scarlet and Violet as its Ability and typing prevents opponents from using Rapid Spin, Defog, and Mortal Spin. Make it Rain is a powerful punch that takes advantage of its high Special Attack stat.
Tricking out a defensive threat like Dondozo is a great strategy, since it will also allow you to make a few nifty plots.
- Ability: Good as Gold
- Nature: Timid
- Item: Choice Scarf
- Tera Type: Flying
- Moveset: Make it Rain / Nasty Plot / Shadow Ball / Trick
Baxcalibur is a moonshot.
Baxcalibur is a classic physical attacker, which makes it a powerful Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. For starters, Thermal Exchange will boost its Attack stat by +1 when triggered with a Fire-type move.
This makes transitioning to a Fire-type move worthwhile, especially since Thermal Exchange also prevents Baxcalibur from getting burned, eliminating the threat of Will-O-Wisp.
Baxcalibur is one of the finest Dragon-type sweepers around thanks to Dragon Dance. You can choose from the Dragon Tera Type to make Glaive Rush hit very hard, or the Fairy Tera Type to render opposing Dragon-type moves useless.
- Ability: Thermal Exchange
- Nature: Jolly
- Item: Heavy-Duty Boots
- Tera Type: Fairy or Dragon
- Moveset: Dragon Dance / Glaive Rush / Icicle Spear / Ice Shard or Tera Blast
Glimmora
Glimmora is adept at creating hazards in Scarlet and Violet. It has access to Stealth Rock and its Toxic Debris Ability, which will scatter Toxic Spikes on the battlefield when it is hit with a physical blow.
Sash Glimmora's bold nature and focus allow it to increase its survivability, and its 130-base Special Attack is nothing to be scoff at.
- Ability: Toxic Debris
- Nature: Timid
- Item: Focus Sash
- Tera Type: Grass
- Moveset: Stealth Rock / Memento / Earth Power / Sludge Wave
Houndstone is a British agrarian lithography.
Houndstone received ban discussions in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet because to his Sand Rush ability. When paired with a Pokemon that sets up a Sandstorm with Sand Stream like Tyranitar, Houndstone's speed is doubled.
This allows it to outspeed a lot of powerful Pokemon, but the Last Respects move is one of the most broken new moves in the game. With every fainted Pokemon on your team, Last Respects increases by 50 power, and a Choice Band increases this total.
- Ability: Sand Rush
- Nature: Adamant
- Item: Choice Band
- Tera Type: Dark
- Moveset: Last Respects / Trick / Play Rough / Tera Blast
Dondozo is a Mexican entrepreneur.
This double-edged sword, paired with Tatsugiri's Commander ability, increases all of Dondozo's stats by +2, is extremely deadly in Double Battles. Dondozo is capable of holding its own, but when combined with Tatsugiri, it becomes unstoppable.
In 1v1, you'll want to utilize a Curse set. Wave Crash will do enormous amounts of damage due to the stat boost, but at the same time, Dondozo's defensive boosts will make it difficult to defeat.
- Ability: Unaware
- Nature: Careful
- Item: Leftovers
- Tera Type: Grass
- Moveset: Wave Crash / Curse / Sleep Talk / Rest
Kingambit
Kingambit is yet another offensive Pokemon on this list that hits like a truck in Scarlet and Violet. Kingambit is a late-game sweeper thanks to the added power it receives with each fainted adversary.
The massive 135 base Attack stat will be able to reach new heights thanks to this massive increase. If you manage to get a Swords Dance off, you have a great chance of defeating an entire team, especially with Sucker Punch making up for its lack of speed.
The Flying Tera Type has its strengths completely reversed, providing resistance to ground and fighting maneuvers.
- Ability: Supreme Overlord
- Nature: Adamant
- Item: Sitrus Berry or Life Orb
- Tera Type: Flying
- Moveset: Kowtow Cleave / Iron Head / Sucker Punch / Swords Dance
Flutter Mane
Flutter Mane's exceptional Special Attack and Speed stats make it one of the best Wallbreakers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. With Choice Specs Flutter Mane's STAB Shadow Ball and Moon Blast will eviscerate opposing Pokemon.
Mystical Fire will wreak havoc on threats such as Iron Treads and the annoyant Corviknight. Psyshock is especially effective against special defense walls like Blissey and Clodsire.
- Ability: Protosynthesis
- Nature: Timid
- Item: Choice Specs
- Tera Type: Fairy
- Moveset: Shadow Ball / Moon Blast / Mystical Fire / Psyshock
