The Al Mazrah map in Warzone 2 includes many old Warfare maps, and a season 2 update will bring a classic MW2 map to life.
Classic Call of Duty locations can be included in an enormous battle royale map, and Infinity Ward went all out in bringing iconic maps to Al Mazrah. High Rise, Terminal, Showdown, and even the original CoD's Neuville can be found.
While Al Mazrah is being rebuilt, these maps have been modified, but it appears the traditional Afghan map will have its most famous feature with the Season 2 update on February 15.
The Afghan map from Modern Warfare 2 has been included in the Sattiq Cave Complex, but you'd be forgiven for overlooking it. The area includes a bunker, cave system, and cliff, but it lacks its most distinctive feature — the crashed plane.
DMZ Season 2 updates include the progress wipe and the new Ashika Island map, but the developers have also teased a map change in the Season 2 update.
"There are further plans to be explored in Al Mazrah," according to the developers, "including the explosion of an unknown aircraft at the Sattiq Cave Complex." This is a direct reference to the Afghan region, where it appears to finally have its iconic aircraft.
The fate of whether or not Season 2 will feature a single Al Mazrah map change, but if not, you'll have to explore the whole of the brand-new Ashika Island Resurgence map, which may have more classic maps to discover when it launches on February 15.
Check out the teaser claiming that Redeploy Balloons will finally be reintroduced in Season 2.
Activision has given a picture credit for the project.
