The Marvels, a film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is said to be in line for its first trailer during the 2023 Super Bowl.
The Marvels is the next Marvel film to be released that does not currently have a public trailer, with February's Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and May's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 both having at least one full-length trailer.
A trailer for the July film was shown to fans at the 2022 D23 convention, but strict no-filming regulations prevented it from being released to the general public.
Jessica ngeles, Brie Larson's voice-dub actor, predicted a teaser release in late January, boosting interest among enthusiasts who couldn't attend the 2022 convention.
According to reports, they may not have to wait too long to see the strange footage finally.
Will Captain Marvel 2 get a Super Bowl commercial?
Deadline has reported that The Marvels from July would "possibly" receive one of Disney's many spots during this month's Super Bowl.
As Deadline explained, Disney has a number of projects scheduled to launch in 2023. Most of the films already have public teasers or trailers, but The Marvels does not. It is the only project on Deadline's list of projects likely to get Super Bowl spots — Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Elemental, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and The Marvels — that has no footage released publicly.
The release of The Marvels' first public material would not be a surprise to fans, considering Disney being a staple in the event's movie marketing.
A Trailer for a Wide Audience
A well-placed TV spot during the Super Bowl can draw a lot of interest in the film, as Marvel saw with the release of a trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness during last year's Super Bowl.
Since the Ant-Man film has been heavily promoted in recent months, Disney would want to use that time to promote the film. So, once the film is released, attention will need to shift to the Guardians 3 and The Marvels in the spring and summer.
The decision to include a trailer for The Marvels may, however, be impacted by what is teased in the Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania post-credits scene. Perhaps the third Spider-Man film will be another Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had the first trailer for Multiverse of Madness as its second post-credit scene.
The Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, February 12, and The Marvels will be released in cinemas on July 28.
