The Los Angeles Thieves won 3-2 against OpTic Texas in the second Major League match today at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, capped off by eliminating the reigning champions.
The Thieves were led into today's tournament against the Florida Mutineers and New York Subliners with their backs against the wall.

Apart from the 6-4 victory in Search and Destroy, L.A.'s victory over Florida was largely one-sided. Each map in their match against the Major One champions was very impressive.
The Thieves' 250-246 victory over Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint was the start of a tough-fought game. After another 6-4 SnD victory, L.A. returned to Hotel to square up with New York in command. And a 3-2 victory in map three sealed the deal on the Thieves' sweep of the Subliners.
Four of the six games the Thieves played and won today came on the Breenbergh Hotel. L.A. are now 2-0 in Hardpoint and 3-0 in Control against Breenbergh Hotel in Major Two. Fans might be interested to see if this will have an impact on the map vetoes against the Thieves next weekend.
Following their triumph in Major One in December, New York exited Major Two with a top-eight finish. Due to inclement weather in Texas, the team was unable to prepare for the tournament prior to the tournament. Both finalists from the first event of the 2023 CDL season were also sent home.
Tomorrow, February 4, the Los Angeles Thieves will face off against the winner of the Toronto Ultra against Atlanta FaZe winners' bracket match.
