With new cosmetics and battle pass rewards, Overwatch 2 season 3 dives deep into Asian mythology ...

Overwatch 2 is planning to expand its offerings to include more cosmetics inspired by stories from across the world this time, immersing players in Asian mythologies.

The season three battle pass for Overwatch 2 will connect the game's vast roster of heroes to various forms and deities of Asian mythology, particularly that of China, Korea, and Japan. Outside of the previously revealed Amaterasu Kirko Mythic skin, players can expect new themed skins for heroes like D.Va, Ashe, and Zenyatta.

Blizzard has provided further information on this Mythic skin, including that the skin will be themed after the sun, moon, and storms—replacing Japanese gods, specifically Susano’o and Tsukuyomi—in this single skin. Kiriko's spirit fox will also change appearance when using this skin, closely resembling the wolf that the Goddess of the Sun appears as in various representations.

Along with these new skins, weapons charms, sprays, and other items will be available through the both free and premium versions of the battle pass. Until then, it is unclear if all of these new skins will be available in the same way, though many will be exclusive to direct purchase within the in-game shop, as many have been throughout the previous two battle pass themes.

Players can anticipate Overwatch 2 season three's first appearance on February 7, which includes not only this battle pass and its many cosmetic enhancements, but also a new control map, named Antarctic Peninsula.
