The latest teaser for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has confirmed that the game will still be released on May 12, 2023. Even better, it has indicated that you may begin pre-ordering the base and Collector's Editions of the game in the near future.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be the first $70 first-party game released for Nintendo Switch in the first few days of its release. Many predicted that Tears of the Kingdom would sell for $60, mainly because early preorders allowed users to purchase it for that price.
The majority of $59.99 pre-order pages have been removed and updated with the new $69.99 price. However, some sites (mostnotably GameStop) still have it listed at $59.99 as of the time of this writing. There is no word on how these price differences will be handled.
The Collector's Edition will cost $129.99, according to Nintendo. It includes "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, an Artbook case, a Steel Poster, and a set of four pin badges."
Nintendo is releasing a new Tears of the Kingdom-themed Link Amiibo, which will launch on May 12th and allow players to "receive weapons and materials, as well as a special fabric for Link's paraglider." Other Zelda-related Amiibos you scan will also offer "helpful materials, weapons, or a paraglider fabric."
Where Can I Preorder The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
I have not found a single site that offers pre-orders for the Collectors Edition of Tears of the Kingdom. Those will presumably be available at some point, although Nintendo advised you to "check with your local retailer for more information on availability." Similarly, pre-orders for the Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo do not appear to be available at this time.
