President Biden's second State of the Union address, which aired on television, received 27.3 million viewers, compared to 27.3 million last year.
ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, NBCLX, Univision, CNBC, CNN, CNNe, Fox Business, MSNBC, NewsMax, and NewsNation are among the 16 outlets that have contributed to the total.
Fox News is the leading TV network with a median audience of 4.6 million, followed by ABC (4.3 million), NBC (3.7 million), MSNBC and CBS (3.5 million each) and CNN (2.3 million).
According to Nielsen, SOTU viewership was 59% broadcast and 41% cable, with 73 percent of the audience coming from the age 55+ demographic (and just 5% age 18-34).
On Tuesday night, there are two other options:
Night Court (4.3 million viewers/0.5 demo rating) fell for the fourth consecutive episode since its well-watched debut, while American Auto (2.3 mil/0.3) remained unchanged.
Lone Star (3.7 mil/0.4) fell to series lows on FOX | 9-1-1.
A fresh episode* of The Winchesters (310K/0.1) fell to a fresh audience low, as a result of SOTU coverage in several states (such as mine!).
Except in the Los Angeles market, which ran back-to-back reruns
