Release Date, Story, Trailer, and More for Insominacs Wolverine: Rumored ...

Insomniac Games has announced that they are working on a brand-new Wolverine game, which will bring the X-David hero to life like never before. Here's all we know so far about Wolverine, including speculations about its release date.

When Insomniac Games released its first Spider-Man title back in 2018, it was quickly regarded as one of the best superhero games of all time, competing with the popular Batman Arkham series.

The studio has built on the success of Spider-Man: Miles Morales two years later, and plans to publish a full sequel later on in 2023. A second iconic Marvel hero has also been revealed: Wolverine.

From early story details to when Insomnic's Wolverine game will be released, here are all of the information we have so far about the game.

Is there a release date for Wolverine?

Wolverine was first revealed by Insomniac Games back in 2021, but there is still no official release date attached to the game. However, leaks and speculations have given us an idea when we'll finally be able to wear the iconic claws.

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, the developers intend to drop the game in Fall 2024. However, internal consensus suggests that it may be delayed until 2025.

Sadly, Wolverine is still a long way off, but we may see a more exact release date in the coming months.

Platforms for Wolverine

Due to Insomniac's status as a Sony first-party studio, Wolverine will be available only on PlayStation 5. This is bad news for Microsoft followers as it means that it will most likely not be released on Xbox platforms.

However, the original Spider-Man came to PC four years after its release, so Steam users can hold out hope that Wolverine will follow the same lead.

Details on the Wolverine tale

The Wolverine game's developers haven't offered too much information, but Jeff Grubb said the game will focus on Logan before he suits up and joins the X-Men.

An insider said the Giant Bomb team "wants it to stand on its own," rather than figuring out how to incorporate the likes of Proffessor-X or Jean Gray.

Whether or not the bonding process will make up one of Logan's early tasks, it remains to be seen when the game will begin early in his life.

Details about the gameplay of Wolverine

Although Insider Gaming claimed that the Wolverine game would have a semi-open, wide-linear layout, little is known about its gameplay. This means players may go through large open spaces that can be fully explored.

If the speculation proves true, Grubb also said Wolverine will have an "M for Mature" rating so that more violent gameplay features like "dismemberment" may be shown.

The trailer for Wolverine is now available.

So far, there has been only one teaser for Marvel's Wolverine, in the form of a brief teaser for the PlayStation Showcase in 2021. While it did not reveal much gameplay, it does provide some indications for the game's overall tone.
