Fortnite defines a melee weapon as a weapon that you use to physically assault opponents up close. That includes every weapon in the battle royale title that does not fire bullets or bullets.

The Pickaxe Harvesting Tool is available during matches to help break through structures and do small damage to opponents. You may also collect the Shockwave Hammer during the match.

In Fortnite, how do you use melee weapons?

By walking up to your target with the weapon fully charged and pressing the attack/shoot button, you can use melee weapons to take out enemies. Once you've made direct contact with the opponent, the melee weapon will wreak havoc on your body.

One of the Fortnite Geralt of Rivia Quests will require you to deal 500 melee damage to foes. Doing so will grant you the Witcher's Silver Sword, which is also unlockable through the School of the Llama Quests.
