Pam Grier waits for no man, not even James Bond.
The iconic "Foxy Brown" actor said she would not accept a role in the 007 sequel "Octopussy" with Roger Moore.
Grier said to Entertainment Weekly that his agents asked him to meet with the Broccoli family's producers, and she's going, 'I'm not available.'
'I'm out to kill Bond,' Grier said. I gave them other ideas, which were substantially different from what they were doing.
Maud Adams went on to play Bond's title character in the 1983 film.
Grier says she just wanted to do really detailed character stories that weren't predictable. "I rejected everything."
Before his return to fame in 1974, the "Foxy Brown" star admitted to almost quitting Hollywood. "I wasn't sure I'd continue making films," Grier said in a Fox News interview from November. "I wanted to include that quality into my work."
Michelle Yeoh talked about her role as a Bond girl in 1997's "Tomorrow Never Dies," alongside Pierce Brosnan as 007, as a franchise change in 2022.
"Bond was ready for change," Yeoh said. "Bond had to evolve because the fan base was also changing. Women were choosing the films to go and watch, and we don't always want to watch ones that are sexualized."
“I don’t think sexualization would be a big deal,” she said.
