Mongrel Fur is a major ingredient in Hogwarts Legacy's Edurus potion, which increases the defense of the witch or wizard who consumes it, making them more durable. It's one of the game's most popular potions, however, you'll need to have plenty of Mongrel Fur.
Mongrel Fur is fairly inexpensive to obtain. There are two methods to do it, both of which may be initiated fairly early in the story. In this article, we'll describe what these are, and how to accomplish them.
In Hogwarts Legacy, how do I get Mongrel Fur?
The easiest and fastest way to get Mongrel Fur in Hogwarts Legacy is to buy it from J. Pippins Potions in Hogsmeade. He sells potions as well as the reagents required for them, including Mongrel Fur.
A piece of Mongrel Fur will cost you 50 gold, which, while inexpensive on its own, can become quite costly if you intend to make lots of Edurus Potions, as is often the case. Still, Gold isn't too difficult to cultivate.
If you're a witch or wizard who enjoys putting their elbows out and sweating for their items, you may also receive free Mongrel Fur by farming them directly from the source—Mongrels. The best place to find them is in the Mongrel Lair, highlighted in the image below.
Acquiring Mongrel Fur the hard way will take longer to complete, but it will not cost you a dime, and it will provide you with other advantages such as earning experience, discovering items, and being just plain fun.
With either of these methods, you'll have no trouble finding enough Mongrel Fur, so choose the one that suits you best.
