Fans are speculating about the characters in Nintendo's latest teaser for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The trailer showed a dark and evil voice, possibly Ganondorf's. And fans found that this particular big bad sounded familiar.
Matthew Mercer, the dungeon master and well-known voice actor in Critical Role, was reportedly the voice that was heard in the teaser. While nothing was confirmed by Nintendo or Mercer himself, fans recognized that powerful, gritty, and menacing voice from anywhere, especially because of how popular Critical Role has become in recent years.
Fans were immediately speculating that Mercer is the voice actor in the teaser, and fans were eager to see more of him as Ganon when the game officially arrives.
Non-Nintendo players and those who haven't finished Breath of the Wild have come out to say that they'll start playing the game in preparation for Tears of the Kingdom. And why wouldn't they? Have you seen Mercer perform the roles in a Zelda game?
Mercer is well-known for his previous roles, such as Levi in Attack on Titan, Jotaro Kujo from Jojo's Bizzare Adventure and Falco in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The character in question has not been confirmed for the game's release since he was defeated at the end of Breath of the Wild.
On May 12, 2023, the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on Nintendo Switch.
