Every tiny hint we receive about the MCU's Phase 5 kickoff film is tingling, according to a producer who claims the whole film was made from an Easter Egg.
Fans have been speculating about the implications of a given moment since Ant-Man and the Wasp, and it turns out they were correct, according to producer Stephen Broussard. Broussard is talking about a scene from the last film in which Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, rescues Janet Van Dyne — played wonderfully by Michelle Pfeiffer — from the Quantum realm.
There's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in that scene where you can see what kinda looks like a city in the background. Fans have been assuming that there are actually people living in the building for years.
Broussard has finally put the issue to rest by explaining what's really going on.
It's said that the city is "very specific" from Marvel lore, but he did not elaborate. This is from Fantastic Four Annual #25, according to Broussard. The worst part of the whole thing is that they didn't know if they would ever make a third film.
“That was laying our marker down for a Part Three, if we come back. You never know if you'll get a chance to do another one. That was us saying what we'd do, if we were so fortunate.”
This indicates that Phase 5 will continue to be successful, showing that Marvel still has buckets of surprises waiting for fans. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is coming to cinemas on February 17.
