Gunsmith and attachments for Modern Warfare 2 are explained

Gunsmith and attachments for Modern Warfare 2 are explained ...

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the Gunsmith allows players to customize their rifles with a wide variety of attachments to create a loadout that suits their needs. Here's all you need to know about the new Gunsmith.

Modern Warfare 2019 introduced a completely new system in the form of the Gunsmith, and it will be changing it once again in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty Next revealed the Modern Warfare 2s multiplayer and Warzone 2, and Infinity Ward revealed the new Gunsmith system ahead of the highly anticipated beta.

Modern Warfare 2 reintroduces the Gunsmith to the basics by only allowing players to equip five attachments, but also adds a whole new level of complexity with the Platform system.

Modern Warfare 2 will include the Gunsmith Platform feature, where weapons will be grouped together to form a family of weapons. Weapons on the same platform will share unlocks, so you'll be unlocking different attachments as you progress.

The new Receiver attachment will appear alongside other traditional weapon attachments such as Muzzle and Stock. As you use a weapon in-game, youll unlock new items, one of which will be Receivers.

Changing a weapons Receiver completely alters what the weapon is, according to the developers, but it still lives within the same Weapons Platform.

The Tempus Armaments M4 Weapons Platform includes five Receivers: the base M4, the M16, the 556 Icarus LMG, the FTac Racon Battle Rifle, and the FSS Hurricane SMG.

When leveling up a weapon in Modern Warfare 2, players will unlock two different types of attachments. The first type belongs to the specific Weapons Platform, which includes Receivers, Barrels, Stocks, Rear Grips, and Magazines. These may be used across all Receivers within a Platform.

The second type of attachments are those that can be used acrossallweapons that are able to equip them. These are: Optics, Ammunition, Underbarrels and Foregrips, and Muzzles. This enables you to collect an arsenal of attachments that only need to be unlocked once.

SpecificAttachments to a Weapons Platform Only useable within a specific Weapons Platform:

  • Receiver
  • Barrel
  • Magazine
  • Stock
  • Rear Grip

Universal Attachments Can be used across all Weapons Platforms:

  • Muzzle
  • Underbarrel
  • Ammunition
  • Laser
  • Optic

Players will no longer have to grind to high weapon levels in order to unlock the best optics, suppressors, grips, or ammunition on every pistol. Instead, they will only have to do it once.

Modern Warfare 2 will include a Firing Range capability, according to the developers.

The concept of this new system might sound a bit jarring, but once you get your hands on the Modern Warfare 2 beta, the concept should become more familiar to you.

In the beta, you can see all of the PC system requirements and all of the free rewards available.
