Batman has been one of the most well-known comic book characters on the big screen for the last 30 years. Six different men have played Batman on the big screen in the same time, and George Clooney is ready to declare himself the "best Batman."

George Clooney was one of several big names who spoke at the opening of the Roybal Film and Television Production Magnet, a new academy designed to train high school students from diverse backgrounds the skills they need to excel in a variety of "below the line" careers in Hollywood. Check it out.

George Clooney's one-time role as Batman, in the now-infamous Batman & Robin, is regarded as not that great a film. And it did end that particular era of the Batman franchise due to its less than stellar performance.

Ben Affleck was most likely chosen out of any of the other actors who have played Batman, probably because the two know each other well. So Ben Affleck recently starred in The Tender Bar, a film directed by Clooney, and so the two have a connection, clearly one in which Clooney knows Affleck can make the joke.

And to be fair to George Clooney, I'm not sure he's really that bad a Batman at the time. However, the actor completely understood the assignment, and I'd say he did a fantastic job of playing the role he was expected to play. If you like the character, which is as canonical as any other, Clooney is superb.

Ben Affleck is expected to reprise his role as the caped crusader in The Flash, as well as in a post-credits scene of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, in place of Michael Keaton's portrayal.

The question of who is the greatest Batman is likely to be unanswered. Everyone will have their own preferences for such a situation, and some people, like Robert Pattinson, have just begun to make their mark as the character. It's probably not George Clooney.
