The Modern Warfare 2 movement will include sliding, diving, and ledge hanging ...

In Modern Warfare II, you'll be able to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge again.

In the upcoming Call of Duty game, players will be able to slide, dive, and even hang from ledges. This is a continuation of the Movement from the release of Modern Warfare in 2019, when players were introduced with Tactical Sprint for the first time.

With new movement mechanics, you can speed up or dive to the floor, depending on your running speed. Take a peek and aim with new Ledge Hanging #CODNext #ModernWarfare2 pic.twitter.com/Za1kKLSuUG

If you're sprinting normally and hit your crouch button, you'll slide or dive to the floor. This has been a very useful feature for many years in CoD games, but diving does not cover as much ground as sliding, although providing less area to be shot may be a great way to escape death.

Though you may only move horizontally, you can still hang from ledges in MW2, which is an extension of the established mantling system. Players that mantle may mantle may hang from the edge of helicopters or off of buildings, and players may use a pistol while hanging from a ledge.

It's likely that with all of the different ways players can move around the map, it's more difficult than ever to secure kills on opponents. MW2 is expected to be released on October 28.
