For the past few months, things have been a bit quiet on the Total War Warhammer 3 front, since shortly after the last update for Immortal Empires. However, the director of the fantasy strategy game has issued an update to dispel players' fears that development might be stalled out – as it happens, Total Warhammer players will receive three content updates this year, with the first scheduled to launch in April.
Rich Aldridge, the director of Total War: Warhammer 3's official YouTube channel, claims that one of the reasons that updates have been slow in coming lately is the change in work schedules following the release of Warhammer 3. He explains that the team's efforts focused on Immortal Empires, which was released several months later.
Due to fewer developers working on Immortal Empires and patching the base game, they could less often work on post-launch content and customizations.
“We focused all of our efforts last year on ensuring that Immortal Empires has a solid foundation, but also patching Warhammer 3 itself, and getting it to the level that we need it to be to add new content,” Aldridge says.
Now it appears as if the Total Warhammer team is going forward with further content. Aldridge states that the next level will be released in April. Players can expect two additional "new experiences," roughly sketched into the 2023 calendar for summer and winter.
As a result of community feedback, those will be interspersed with bug fixes and quality of life improvements.
“I daresay that some of this will be – very likely – on your wanted list,” Aldridge adds. “But I believe there will also be a few pleasant surprises there as well.”
