Disney Dreamlight Valley's developers have announced a very welcome change that will be introduced in the game's third major update on February 16: the return of unlimited coal. Fortunately, concerns about the difficulties players face when collecting certain items have not gone unnoticed.
A significant change was made to Kristoff's Stall in a previous patch, limiting the quantity of each item that could be purchased on a given day. This made it difficult for most players to maintain a constant supply of coal to prepare the game's many dishes on a daily basis.
Coal is currently available only from mining, in addition to the five items that were randomly picked from Kristoff's Stall. While mining is straightforward, especially because the veins respawn quite swiftly, coal shares a drop with every other item from a mineral vein, so you aren't guaranteed to receive coal when gathering.
Players will be able to purchase an unlimited amount of coal in the next update by completing his friendship questline and paying a small amount of gold. Previously, coal could be purchased for just 5 Gold, but the developers have not indicated if there will be an increase to this price once it has been removed.
