The highly anticipated RPG Sea of Stars has been waiting for a long time. First released in 2020 as a prequel to the well-known game The Messenger, Sea of Stars now has an official release date. After months of waiting, the February Nintendo Direct surprised fans with an exact date.
When will Sea of Stars be released?
Sabotage Studio, the developer, has announced that Sea of Stars would be released on August 29. The game was pushed back from its original release — not once, but twice.
Fans were waiting for more information about a specific release date, but it never happened. Instead, Sea of Stars was postponed once more in a tweet from the summer of 2022. The studio then announced the official release date we know today.
What is the meaning of the Sea of Stars?
Sea of Stars is heavily inspired by old JRPGs such as Chrono Trigger. The game has stunningly-rendered, retro, pixeled art and a unique lighting system that plays a key role in the narrative. Yasunori Mitsuda, the composer of Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and the Xeno series, adds to that classic feel.

Sea of Stars will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, although there is no word on an Xbox release, although it does not rule out the possibility that the game will be released on the system on August 29. We also conducted an interview with the developers last year about how the game was created.
