The best ways to get Gold (or Galleons) in Hogwarts Legacy and make a lot of money are:
- Farming for items and selling them at Hogsmeade
- Hunting Fantastic Beasts
- Opening Eyeball Chests

Selling Items at Hogsmeade
Experienced Hogwarts Legacy players will understand that regular visits to Hogsmeade are critical when it comes to earning money.
Gladrags Wizardwear accepts cash donations every day, with legendary items valued at around 200 Galleons per case. Simply call the shopkeeper and select the Sell tab to sell your gear.
No need to worry about losing the cosmetic item when selling it either. Thanks to this handy Hogwarts Legacy transmog feature, you'll always be able to keep your favorite items on hand even when you're not wearing them!
If you want to wait, you'll gather items naturally and fill up your inventory as you go, but diving in the Black Lake is an excellent source of Gear.
If you solve all of these Merlin Trials, you'll be able to increase your inventory space and carry more with you.
Fantastic Beast Hunting
Around halfway through the Hogwarts Legacy missions list, you'll need to have completed the mission 'The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom.'
You'll receive a Nab-Sack, used for capturing Fantastic Beasts, at this point. After snatching your Beasts down in the open world, you can take them to the Brood & Peck shop in Hogsmeade to drop them off.
Each animal will cost 120 gold, and spawns will reset every in-game day. Visit the Mooncalf den where you first learn to use your Nab-Sack, and you'll find 8 Mooncalfs every day.
Before you capture them with your Nab-Sack, you'll be selling a whole den's worth of gold to 960 Galleons.
Other easy-to-catch Beast Dens, such as Puffkein Dens, are great places to capture farm creatures.
Opening Eyeball Chests
Eyeball Chests (or Disillusionment Chests, if you prefer) are one of the best sources of income in Hogwarts Legacy.
Each one has a staggering 500 gold coins, allowing you to double your wallet size, provided you know how to open them.
