J.K. Rowling created the Hogwarts Legacy. You can read more about Rowling's history of transphobic remarks as well as resources to support LGBTQ organizations here.
The choice of your Hogwarts House in Hogwarts Legacy is one of the first big decisions you'll need to make as a player. While there are many reasons to pick one house over the others, some early players have already discovered that each House's unique quest might be their greatest selling feature.
Yes, each of the four Houses in Hogwarts Legacy offers a unique quest that isn't available to those who choose one of the other Houses. It's not quite as substantial as you'd expect.
The Richard Jackdaw Connection
The ghost of a student named Richard Jackdaw will be required in every unique House Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. However, how you meet Jackdaw will depend on which Hogwarts House you chose at the start of the game.
The Jackdaw encounter is part of the game's main questline, so you won't miss your House's unique quest. The House Quests all pay differently, but they all lead you to the same next chapter of the main story.
The Hunt for the Missing Pages in Hogwarts Legacy Gryffindor House
Nick, the dreadful face in this game, invites you to go to the kitchens in order to get some rotten roast beef. On the way, you get to interact with the famous "painting of fruit" that leads to the kitchen area.
Nick takes you to a graveyard where you'll encounter the Headless Hunt after getting the roast beef. You'll need to find Richard Jackdaw's head in the graveyard in order to summon Jackdaw's ghost.
This is a very educational quest that includes some of the Harry Potter books' notable characters, locations, and events. Anyone who likes the Wizarding World's somewhat darker (or really just "spookier") side will also enjoy this mission.
Hufflepuff House: A Hogwarts Legacy Unique Quest: Prisoner of Love
Eldritch Diggory is asked to appear in the Hufflepuff common room and confess to the murder of Richard Jackdaw and why he suspects that the person who was convicted of the crime may not have been the murderer. He then asks for you to assist a nearby former Auror in solving this mystery once and for all.
With the help of Auror Helen Thistlewood, you visit the prisoner Anne, Richard Jackdaw's former love interest who was convicted of the crime. You soon learn the terrible truth of this case and must reveal your findings to Richard Jackdaw's ghost.
This is quite possibly the best House Quest in the game. Not only do you get to see Azkaban (though you do not learn how to perform the Patronus charm), but the quest's narrative is one of the darkest and most interesting in the whole game.
Slytherin House Unique Quest: Scrope's Last Hope in Hogwarts Legacy
When you discover a series of strange notes referencing an individual named Scrope, you'll come across Scrope, a house elf who wants to give it to the headmaster.
You enter a spooky cave/dungeon filled with enemies and minor puzzles in search of the heirloom. There, you discover the ghost of Richard Jackdaw, who has some bad news to report concerning the heirloom in question.
This quest lacks the gryffindor and Hufflepuff storytelling features, but it does include some more traditional adventuring. It's certainly the best option for those who like combat, and it's a fine little quest in its own right.
Ravenclaw House Quest: Ollivander's Heirloom from Hogwarts Legacy
You will go to Olivander's shop in Hogsmeade where Gerbold Ollivander informs you that he is looking for an ancient wand that was stolen from his shop. He suspects Richard Jackdaw was the culprit, and he believes that you may discover more about the wand if you visit the Owlery.
Combine the appropriate pieces and find out where to place them, and you may be able to discover what happened to that old wand.
This mission is rather shady compared to the other House Quests. The Owlery isn't a particularly exciting location, the puzzle is extremely simple, and there isn't much to tell about it. It's the worst House Quest by some distance.
Is There Any Other Hogwarts Legacy House Quests?
Although much of Hogwarts Legacy is still being explored, there aren't any other unique House Quests in the game. While some sequences may play out slightly differently depending on which House you choose (mostly in the dialog), the above are the only ones you can "miss" depending on your House.
