Luther, played by Idris Elba, is free to flee to rescue a maniac.

“A gruesome serial killer is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther (Elba) sits behind bars,” according to the new trailer for Luther: The Fallen Sun, which will be released Friday, February 24, and will be available on Netflix Friday, March 10th. “Luther decides to get out of prison if necessary,” according to the film.

Luther tries to avoid his own capture while still fulfilling his duty as "a copper" in the above video clip. But the clock is ticking as Luther puts his life on the line once more in order to put another criminal in jail.

Cynthia Erivo (Genius: Aretha), Andy Serkis (The Batman) and Dermot Crowley (Star Wars: Return of the Jedi), who reprises her role as Martin Schenk, are all actors in the film. The whole series is currently available on Hulu.

Neil Cross, the series' writer, directs the new film, while Jamie Payne (who directed all of Season 5) returns to direct. Along with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, David Ready, and executive producers Dan Finlay, Brendan Ferguson, Miki Emmerich, and Priscilla Parish, Cross and Elba produce.
