It's almost as easy to list the actors who haven't yet become part of the Marvel or DC universes as a result of the latest episode of "Batman: The Audio Adventures." The actor claims to have become closer to playing a superhero than many others.
In a new interview with Comicbook.com, Leguizamo explained that he was in the running for Michael Keaton's villain from "Spider-Man: Homecoming." The actor said that he was unaware that Keaton was interested in the role, and that he even had a contract in place until the actor expressed his desire to play him.
"I was supposed to be the Vulture," Leguizamo said. "They said that Michael Keaton wanted it back, and they asked me if I would give it up. I said, "Well, okay, I guess." They said, "We'll work with you again..." That's what happened there.
Keaton subsequently played Vulture in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming,' before reprising it in a post-credits scene in 'Morbius.' However, following the film's critical and commercial failure — it also surpassed its box office record of twice in 2022 — it's hard to imagine that there will be many more opportunities to complete the story.
Marvel eventually agreed to reprise the role of Leguizamo, but he felt it was too little to merit his time. He has since found success in several other recent films including "The Menu" and "John Wick: Chapter 2."
“They offered me something small,” he said. “I went, ‘Nuh uh.”
