For just a dollar, Konami is offering its latest entry in the Power Pros baseball series, WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros.
Konami released a teaser for the game following its price tag announcement on February 9. The series is known in Japan as Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu, and began its journey to the gaming industry when it was released as a Super Famicom (SNES) title in 1994.
The latest version of WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros will be available for PS4 and Switch at a cost of $0.99.
"The worldwide release of the game is available at an affordable price of $0.99 with no additional charges," Konami stated. "In the hope that it will be enjoyed by many people around the world, especially with the game supporting up to four players on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, as well as single player online."
Players will be able to use baseball players with a "chibi" or cartoonish appearance in WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros. They may even create their own team from the Power Pros franchise to compete in a series of baseball matches.
"Welcome to Japan's most popular baseball game series! Creating your own dream team with unique characters from the POWER PROS universe and representing your country in WBSC's eSport discipline," reads the official description.
There will be no microtransactions in the game, and Konami's intention in addition to the one-dollar price tag is to encourage gamers to appreciate what Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu has already offered in Japan over the years.
