Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offers only a few light machine gun weapons, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything to be excited about.
The 556 Icarus is a lightweight machine gun, and it's basically the smaller brother of the classic M4. With how weapon platforms work in MW2, it provides the same iron sight as the M4. Also, it has several of the same attachments as the AR.
The Icarus is a "lightweight squad-support weapon in the M4 platform," which "does not significantly affect mobility." It's a solid weapon in the platform you will need to use anyway.

The Icarus has better range, accuracy, and recoil control than the M4, but it fails in damage and handling, and it suffers greatly in mobility. None of this makes sense when considering that the Icarus is an LMG and the M4 is an AR, but the Gunsmith cancels any of it.
This set of attachments really leans towards the LMG side of the pistol, nearly maximizing its recoil control to help when holding down the trigger for long periods of time, while completely disregarding mobility and handling. It's only intended for Sentinels who like their high-capacity magazines and powerful gunfire.

This 556 Icarus loadout, similar to a popular Warzone 2 build, is excellent for mid-range shooting as well as further thanks to its huge improvements to accuracy and range. The AIM-OP V4 can be replaced for a different scope, but it's still one of the best in the game when it comes to visibility while firing.
