MultiVersus has been without any new content for over a month and a half, and many players in the community have been antsy. While the developer used to add a new character every two weeks, there appears to be no new one available until March 31. However, players will finally receive a permanent ranked mode and bug fixes in a major patch next week.
According to a tweet from the official MultiVersus account, the next update for the game is planned to be next week, likely on Tuesday, depending on previous fixes. Following the variety of playtests it has featured over the last few months, there will also be a permanent Ranked mode.
In the next patch, there will be a ValentiNeon Event which will include new cosmetics, such as the Shaggy and Velma variations mentioned above. If the event goes ahead, players will likely be able to redeem free cosmetics from the event. There will also likely be a new mode built around the holiday.
The update will include new features such as native Steam support for multikeyboard characters, balanced characters, and a visualisation of the defense meter. Players will soon be able to play with multiple keyboards on Steam, and the balances should make the game more fair overall.
This will be the first update to MultiVersus in over two months, so it's probable that many people will be watching this new patch and the new information included in it.
