Is there a possibility that we may have some additional information on a Virgin River season 5 premiere date in the near future — or, to be more specific, during the Super Bowl this weekend?
On paper, we recognize if this idea sounds like a somewhat bizarre proposition. However, Virgin River isn't exactly the NFL game when it comes to style and substance, although we think they're starting to think of the Alexandra Breckenridge drama as one of their higher-tier hits at this point.
Given that season 5 will most likely premiere this summer (most likely July), you can argue that the timing works out that we may get a Super Bowl spot teasing either the premiere date or an approximate one. Or, at the very least, Virgin River might be featured alongside some of the streamer's other top shows.
What are the chances of this happening? For the time being, we'd argue that there is a possibility... but we wouldn't say that it is an entirely huge one. The biggest issue remains the cost of putting a Super Bowl ad on television. Even if Netflix has done it before, we can't always assume that a corporation will want to do it every year.
Even if it is unlikely, there's still no denying that this is a fun topic to think about — we'll just have to be patient for a while to see when Netflix restores some of our favorites.
