Could we get a premiere date for season 2 of The Wheel of Time during the Super Bowl tomorrow night? There is a case for a fairly reasonable argument.
So, where do we begin? It's simple: With a reminder that Prime Video has a great argument to make for this to happen. This is an extremely popular program with a dedicated following, and you can argue that this would easily help to expand it. Also, announcing a date would help justify the huge cost of a 30-second spot.
While the Super Bowl is still broadcast on Fox, Prime Video has had several commercials during the game throughout the years. Even if there isn't a special teaser for Season 2, we'd be more cautious about it; yet, we're still hopeful that season 2 will premiere in the first half of this year.
We still wouldn't bank on such a proposal as a certainty, despite all of the arguments for it tomorrow night. When you start thinking about a million-dollar promotional reveal, it's a difficult thing to guarantee. Sure, Amazon has the money, but whether or not they'll do something is a completely different story.
We just hope that even if there is no big reveal around the game tomorrow night, there will be a significant promotional effort elsewhere. The Wheel of Time deserves it, and we want to see in general Prime Video make a significant investment in fantasy. Remember that both this and Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power deserve their time!
