In the final installment of removing the bullet and going beyond the stars, quite valid points were raised about where the Fast & Furious franchise might go next in order to continue raising the bar.
Dominic Toretto and his family have already destroyed almost every mode of transportation on land, sea, air, and outer space, leaving few alternatives for things viewers haven't seen before. Yet, the first trailer for Fast X claims to have somehow upped the ante even further, even if the action is set solidly.
With Jason Momoa's Dante being introduced as the son of Joaquim de Almeida's Fast Five villain Reyes, the upcoming action blockbuster has already demonstrated that mythology is going retcon-crazy all over again, adding another ludicrous layer to a lore that has become soaked to the bone by this stage.
Most likely in a shambles, but let's not kid ourselves and assume that we wouldn't want to see the concept of time travel introduced in Fast X to tie the whole series together just in time for the grand finale.
So who's to say the nefarious Eteon hasn't been working on time travel as well as Hobbs & Shaw's? It would only take a strategically-placed exposition dump from Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody to open the way to a gigantically dysfunctional development that might happen to Fast & Furious.
