Coronation Street and Emmerdale have confirmed intentions to cancel certain episodes next week ...

As part of schedule changes, ITV have confirmed when additional Coronation Street and Emmerdale episodes will air.

The soaps have had a variety of release schedules following the death of Queen Elizabeth II last week. Several broadcast adjustments have been made to accommodate for news coverage.

The Queen's funeral will take place on Monday, September 19, meaning neither soap will be available on that day. Instead, both will air on Tuesday, September 20.

Emmerdale will air at 7pm, and Coronation Street will air at 8pm.

Emmerdale will be available tonight (September 16) at 8pm and 8.30pm in lieu of Coronation Street, which will now be available on Sunday, September 18 at 7pm.

These are just a few of the many schedule changes made this week as the National Television Awards, which were originally scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 15th, have been postponed until October 13.

Katie Piper's Breakfast Show, This Morning, Loose Women, and Dickinson's Real Deal have also been removed from their respective Friday slots.

Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) will leave Weatherfield in upcoming Corrie scenes.

Gibson announced that she would no longer be working on the soap during the summer, and she discussed with Digital Spy and other outlets why she decided to quit.

Corrie is a home, according to the singer. "It's the best way of describing it, it's a home." Because I'm so young, I thought: 'I've got to leave.' I don't have kids, I don't have a mortgage to pay, I'm still grateful to be alive at home."

Coronation Street airs on ITV Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8pm, and it is available on the ITV Hub.
