Charlie Barnett Reunites With Leslye Headland on The Acolyte of Russian Dolls ...

Charlie Barnett, who plays The Acolyte, has been cast in the upcoming Star Wars series, which will reunite him with Leslye Headland, the creator of the Russian Doll, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The plot details for The Acolyte are being kept under wraps, but the series synopsis and setting so far indicates that The Acolyte will take place in the final days of the High Republic, which was what was dubbed a "golden age" for the Jedi Order, and the moment in time when the Jedi were at the height of their power. The series will take place towards the end of the era, and much closer to the films' events.

Barnett's role in Russian Doll was a guy stuck alongside Natasha Lyonne's character, Nadia, in a perpetual time loop, where they worked together to solve the problems that came up. She also played characters on the series Chicago Fire, You, and Arrow.

Amandla Stenberg leads the show, which recently added Squid Game's Lee Jung-jae, Queen & Slim's Jodie Turner-Smith, and The Good Place's Manny Jacinto to its growing cast.

Headland is the series' director, writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The majority of the casting and characters are being kept in absolute secrecy.

The Acolyte is currently unavailable for viewing, although there is no release date for the show. Keep an eye on Collider for further information about Barnett's casting and development. Andor will be the next Disney+ Star Wars series, which will premiere on September 21.
