Script for Mike and Will's Season 4 Heart to Heart: 'Stranger Things' Writers

Script for Mike and Will's Season 4 Heart to Heart: 'Stranger Things' Writers ...

Stranger Things, a Netflix hit series, has released the script for a brief interplay between Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) from Season 4, episode 4, titled "Dear Billy." It's a short story, but it's a turning point in their relationship during the season.

Max Mayfield's (Sadie Sink) first truly terrifying encounter with death is celebrated during the fourth episode of the fourth season, but Will and Mike manage to preserve a moment of tranquility before chaos ensues. As Will is hurriedly strewn clothes into a bag, Mike casually offers an olive branch of thanks to Will, and the ice between them begins to recede.

Season 4 picks up in the wake of everything that transpired in Season 3's Starcourt finale, which left the Party feeling more isolated than ever. Will, especially, has been feeling lonely, incapable of finding his place in the world, whether it be at home, school, or in his evolving group of friends. In the script the writers released, Mike finally opens up to Will, showing a more vulnerable side to his typical brashness.

"The truth is, Dustin and Lucas and Max are wonderful, but Hawkins, it hasn't been the same without you." I've been so concerned about El, that -- (beat) -- I don't know. And... I don't know what will happen next. If we're... friends again, we'll have a lot of fun.

Mike has been equally as unhappy within the group as Will has. We also learn more about Will's feelings for Mike not only as a best friend, but also as a whole person. However, in order for Will to have gotten to that point he needed this moment in the bedroom, he must have heard Mike reaffirm their bond.

Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Joseph Quinn, and Jamie Campbell Bower are among the actors in The Stranger Things.
