Forspoken sales aren't appearing to be off to a great start. The game is already being outpaced by the Destroy Space remake on Steam and Hi-Fi Rush on Steam. Now, Sony has revealed that it didn't really do well in January 2023's PS Store download charts.
Older games beat out Forspoken sales.
Dead Space was the second most downloaded PS5 game in the United States and Canada, and the fourth most downloaded game in the United Kingdom and Europe. Forspoken, released three days prior to Dead Space, was no. 7 in the United States/Canada and no. 5 in the United Kingdom/Europe.
It's unusual for a PS5 exclusive to debut at a low level in the charts and be beaten to the top by older games (seriously, we can't explain this one anymore), followed by games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, FIFA 23 (U.K/Europe) and NBA 2K23 (U.S./Canada).
The Last of Us Part 1 has re-emerged in the top ten in both the United States/Canada and the United Kingdom/Europe, partly due to the HBO show's success.
