The new Super Mario Bros. Movie teaser has somewhat moved away from a theatrical standpoint and instead gone full creative mode. Rather than giving the viewer more information about the film's plot, the filmmaker has decided to transform the latest trailer into a legitimate plumbing business, with a real website.
The website also has a video, set in the 90s to early 2000s TV ad style. The Super Mario Bros. video game theme song is well-known for its backing track.
I know what you're thinking: is the number real? Yes, it is! Luigi would welcome you if you call the number that was placed at the end of the ad (929-55-MARIO), since he would encourage the sender to text them whenever they have any issue. The website is still being developed, so maybe it will be updated when the film comes out.
Mario and Luigi are sadly terrible at their jobs, although one of them came from their former employer. Meanwhile, a couple in Brooklyn complained about the two plumber brothers making a mess in their house during a job, but gave them two stars because of their dog. The other nice comment is from their mother.
If you find something on this website, you will be rewarded with easter eggs and old Nintendo references. It's definitely worth a visit.
On April 7, 2023, the Super Mario Bros. film will be released in cinemas.
