When it comes to dumb-but-fun entertainment, B-movies are often the most lucrative vein to pursue, with horror in particular flourishing in the sphere of cheap stupidity. The B-horror wave has dwindled since the VHS days, but a self-aware release from 2014 has finally surfaced.
Zombeavers are exactly what it says on the tin. Yes, they are beavers. Yes, they are also zombies. And yes, there's some truly shameless nudity just in case you weren't sure if it was a trashy B-movie. Years after its initial release, horror lovers are having fun discussing the ridiculous film.
Everything you could anticipate from the film's title is absolutely true, and best of all, it's actually quite funny. Zombeavers was a viral hit at its first trailer, but it's since deteriorated a bit.
It isn't overly dynamic, nor is Zombeavers a game-changer for cinematography, but it's a decent crowd-pleasing film.
Zombeavers has B-movie enthusiasts who are steadfast in their belief that B-horror is the absolute best of the best. Horror is often compared to comedy in terms of setup and punchline, but bad horror can still be enjoyable.
If you aren't completely sold on it yet, the surprise appearances of Bill Burr and John Mayer may get you turning to your local streamer. Zombeavers is available on Tubi.
