In the Flash Super Bowl teaser, fans react to Supergirl ...

The very tardy The Flash film has finally received its first look ahead of this year's Super Bowl. The film's star, Ezra Miller, has consistently received positive reviews, but Tim Gunn's decision to proceed has not been without cause. Regardless of the controversy, the film is coming, and the trailer shows us that we'll be seeing multiple Flashes and Batmans (Michael Keaton anyone?) and Sasha Calle making her debut as Supergirl.

Supergirl appears in the trailer for roughly five seconds, but her role was the best part of the trailer for many fans. This is the first time the hero has appeared in a film since the 1984 Supergirl film, and many took to Twitter to express her DCU debut.

Supergirl had her own popular CW program (aptly named Supergirl) and fans of the show were bound to compare her with Melissa Benoist, who plays the character in the show's first episode since the 1980s. The interactions were positive, as Twitter users seem to like both actors' performances of the character.

In the teaser, some people noticed Supergirl saves (a version of) Batman from an attacker, punching the villain and presumably killing him.

Supergirl is completely different from her famous cousin, Superman in this scene. In the teaser, Clark Kent famously refuses to kill, while Supergirl does so quite casually.

Fans also saw the hero facing off against Zod in what is sure to be a crazy match.

Several individuals are already campaigning for her to play Supergirl in the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film.

The DC Universe is in the midst of a restructuring, but if Calle's performance in The Flash is as strong as these reactions suggest, we can certainly see her staying stuck into the new era of DC films.
