Overwatch 2's main draw is its new heroes and modes, but maps are equally important parts of the gameplay experience. With colorful landscapes and complicated paths, players never knew when a new location would appear in their game.
Overwatch 2 is changing that. New maps will be released on a much more regular basis as a result of the game's new seasonal structure. Fans will always know when the next locale will be released. After Overwatch 2 is released on October 4, the developer team will release a new map every other season. During the seasons when no new map is released, players will get a new hero instead.
The next Overwatch 2 map release is now available.
Overwatch 2s next map: Esperanca
All Overwatch 2s maps are based on real-world locations. Esperanca is designed for Push, the games new map that sees two teams attempting to escort a robot towards the other teams spawn. The team that gets the farthest wins.
On October 4, Esperanca will be available during Overwatch 2s PvP launch in early access. Unlike new heroes, which players will need to earn by purchasing the game's premium battle pass or advancing to tier 55 of the free battle pass, new maps will be immediately available to all players.
What about Overwatch 2s next map?
Overwatch 2's next new map isnt exactly clear, but we know that the next new map will be released following the start of season three. Blizzard intends to develop further modes as well as heroes and maps in the future, so it's possible that the next map will focus on a mode that doesn't even exist yet.
