Future updates of the popular Roblox experience Anime Fighters Simulator will be phased out ...

The developers of Anime Fighters Simulator (AFS) have announced the end of their year of activity on the Roblox platform, which has gained over one billion views and likes and favorites. On September 14, 2022, Roblox developer daireb announced that the experience would continue to be open, but regular updates would no longer be released.

Daireb states in his open letter that while he would like to keep up with AFS, the decision to suspend updates was out of his control and triggered by "internal issues with the team" that made continuing the updates impossible.

I'm very sorry to announce that Anime Fighters will no longer be receiving regular updates from now on. This is due to internal issues within the team, which I'm afraid is totally out of my control. I'd like to continue updating, but unfortunately that is not the case. There may be updates at some point in the future, but they won't be coming [as] regularly as previously. I'll look forward to working with you on future games.

Daireb thanks the players, testers, administrators, and other managers on his team who worked to make AFS the success it was able to become in another tweet posted by jaymlIks on Twitter.

Hundreds of players have spoken out their thoughts on the situation on Twitter since the publication of this article, some criticizing daireb for being a disgruntled manager and team member, while others applauding him for his openness.

"I'm still working on becoming the strongest in Anime Fighters, but I promise that in your next games, I will be the strongest," said user Pietro Jibsqi. "I'm sorry for what's happening in Anime Fighters, it's my favorite game."

"I'm still kinda sad that I put so much Robux into AFS [just] for it to end so soon, but it was still a great experience nonetheless," said another user, @D4rkssOfficial. "For sure one of the best Roblox games I've played."

Not everyone was as forgiving of daireb, with user @TheSeamanNFT reiterating this assertion, saying, "What you mean is you have stopped getting as much money as before due to lazy development and not listening to your player base," followed by user @BigDripBigSauce reiterating this assertion, saying, "You all got the money you wanted and thats all." Definitely not playing anything related to you guys again."

Daireb quoted a video of a Robloxian on a hoverboard, captioned "New game soon?" This has prompted many players to assume that daireb is moving away from AFS to pursue other interests, not because of any alleged "internal issues."
