Hollyoaks' tonight's (September 16) episode teased the return of one of the show's greatest villains.
Silas Blissett, a serial murderer, has been planned to return in an enormous stunt in the autumn.
As we learn about the fact that a carnival is coming to town, we get our first insight into the man in a post credits scene.
When the credits had been played, Silas stood on the street with a phone in his hand as he saw a notification about a carnival coming to Hollyoaks.
"Looks like I've got a carnival to go to," he said before the episode ended.
After Silas makes his entry, Tony Hutchinson is in charge of the carnival.
"It is a really bold and ambitious move, and it was really important to us that we chose ourselves this year," producer Lucy Allan told Digital Spy back in July.
Hollyoaks has been teasing this plot for months now, with Allan stating that she wishes future episodes of the show to inspire discussion in the outside world.
"It's always about the way we portray characters and the way our audience perceives the bodies we show on screen, as well as the realms of the occasional serial killer," she said. She said that, along with the occasional serial killer, have been integral components of the 27-year journey from Hollyoaks to the present day.
"The autumn stunt does reveal the return of Silas Blissett, who is probably the most famous of the Hollyoaks serial killers over the years."
"I can definitely guarantee that this is not a news story, and I believe you'll enjoy the bold, audacious nature of the stunt," she said.
Hollyoaks seems to be finally starting off. What will happen next? There's only one way to find out.
