Burn Gorman and Michael Greco, a Game of Thrones and EastEnders alumni, are among the latest actors to join the cast of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in the Hunger Games prequel.
Gorman will play Commander Hoff, a Capitol peacekeeper sent to District 12 by the Capitol, while Greco's character is Strabo Plinth, who, along with Daniela Grubert's Mrs. Plinth, is the wealthy parents of Coriolanus Snow's friend Sejanus Plinth.
Fionnula Flanagan will play Coriolanus' strict grandmother, Isobel Jesper Jones will play Mayfair Lipp, the daughter of District 12 mayor, and Flora Li Thiemann will play Livia Cardew, the mentor to a tribute from District 1.
In District 12, Honor Gillies, Eike Onyambu, and Konstantin Taffet will play a group of nomads, while Scott Folan and Carl Spencer will join Gorman as peacekeepers.
Gorman, who played Karl Tanner in the fantasy series Night's Watch, isn't the only Thrones alumni to join the film either. Earlier this year it was announced that Peter Dinklage would play Casca Highbottom.
Coriolanus Snow, the last hope from the once proud family, is assigned with tutoring a young girl, Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) in the upcoming Hunger Games.
Francis Lawrence, the director of Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part One, and Mockingjay Part Two, will direct the film again. The film is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games novel of the same name.
Collins will serve as an executive producer alongside Tim Palen and Jim Miller.
On November 17, 2023, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be released in cinemas. The previous Hunger Games movies are available to stream on Prime Video UK.
