Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the Squid Game, wants Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Season 3 ...

Leonardo DiCaprio might be the star of Killers of the Flower Moon, but Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the Squid Game series, believes the Oscar winner may be a real killer.

The Emmy-winning Netflix series has been renewed for a second season, and while Hwang said the next installment would continue to be set in Korea, he cautioned that Season 3 might have a more international focus thanks to Hollywood's biggest star.

Leonardo DiCaprio said he loves the Squid Game, so maybe if time or circumstances allow, we may invite him to join the teams, according to Variety.

Season 2 will not have a known Hollywood actor, according to the speaker. If the stage changes, maybe in Season 3, but for Season 2, the film will still be shot in Korea. We will begin shooting Season 2 next year and it will be released the following year.

Korea has always had its eyes on a global market when we created this stuff [content], according to Hwang. I think we create high quality content because of the highly competitive Korean society and as a result K-content became popular across the world.

Squid Game: The Challenge, a reality competition series, has also been approved by Netflix, with a $4.56 million cash prize for a winner. The historic reality show will be shot in the United Kingdom.

Hwang, the creator of Squid Game, stated in 2021 that he was under a lot of pressure to complete Season 2 of his series.

Hwang explained that at the time, I was so weary of Season 1, that I couldnt really think of anything else. But now that Season 2 has become a smash hit, people would hate me if I don't finish it, so I'm under a lot of pressure and think I'd have to.

Hwang is also working on a satire series inspired by the making of Squid Game, titled The Best Show on the Planet.
