Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is saying bye-bye to the current format, with a new Forbidden and Limited list set to be released at the end of September, and will complete the job the previous banlist couldt finish on its own.
Players will be able to now create Forbidden and Limited cards that were previously unavailable on September 30, such as Pot of Greed.
This is a significant upgrade, as it allows players to play previously inaccessible cards in custom Duel Rooms in limited Yu-Gi-Oh! formats, such as Goat, Reaper, and Edison. If this kind of support continues to grow, Master Duel may see its own dedicated communities sprouting up or migrating from other platforms.
Some of the most notable hits for the updated Forbidden and Limited list, including Crystron Halqifibrax being officially banned, Spellbook of Judgement becoming limited, and a number of Semi-Limited moves like Rivalry of Warlords, Gozen Match, and ABC-Dragon Buster. Floodgate decks will be the most affected by these changes when they go into effect, with increased answers like Red Reboot at two copies now.
This does not address everything that players are sick of dealing with in the current meat, like Maxx C still being at three copies for example, but it should give some rouge decks a better shot or more dynamic deck building options.
There are a few things that will go live before the end of the month, such as the next limited-time event and a new Structure deck.
The Said Structure Deck will be added to the in-game shop on September 20 and will include the newly-unbanned Spellbook of Judgement and Hierophant of Prophecy, with the deck being called Spellbook of Prophecy.
In preparation for the shop update on September 20, Spellbook of Judgment will be legal starting today.
With Synchro and Xyz Summoning being legalso either Virtual World will be everywhere, or players will continue with their current tribute summoning habits.
The whole Synchro x Xyz's Forbidden and Limited list is now available in Master Duel, and there will be three new Loaner Decks players may use if they do not wish to construct a deck themselves. They will be Intersection of Two Colors (Magician Pendulum), Jolly Ghostrick (Ghostrick), and Dark Blade Looming Over the Swordsoul (Swordsoul).
