Rose Byrne and her husband Bobby Cannavale are collaborating on a new comedy feature film with a slew of other well-known actors.
Max, a late-night comedy writer, is at odds with his ex-wife on how best to raise their 11-year-old autistic son and resorts to kidnapping him and taking him on a cross-country trek.
Cannavale will play Max while Byrne will play his ex-wife, and newcomer William Fitzgerald will play their son. Robert De Niro, who has two Oscar winners, will play Max's father, while Vera Farmiga, Whoopi Goldberg, and The Office's Rainn Wilson will also play in the comedy film from Closer Media and Wayfarer Studios.
Cannavale and Byrne have collaborated on a number of projects before, including Spy, Annie, Mrs. America, Adult Beginners, and most recently, Seriously Red.
Byrne played Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse, who assists James McAvoy's Professor X and Michael Fassbender's Magneto in establishing the X-Men.
Cannavale also played Jim Paxton, Scott Lang's ex-wife in both Ant-Man films. It isn't known if Cannavale will reprise his role in the upcoming third Ant-Man film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Byrne was last seen in the Apple TV+ series Physical in 2023, while she will reprise her role in the indie film Insidious 5. Cannavale is currently staring in the Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde, in which he plays Monroe's second husband, former New York Yankees baseball player Joe DiMaggio.
