Limits on Pokemon Go Love Cup
The Love Cup in Pokemon Go is a limited-time tournament, but it's quite accessible to most players. Pokemon who participate in these matches must be above the 1,500 CP limit to qualify.
The Love Cup is one of the games' most peculiar challenges, because only red or pink Pokemon are permitted to participate in it. While this limits the possibilities, it is important to note that Pokemon like Charizard, who only have red in their flames, are also eligible.
The Best Pokemon for the Love Cup
Below you'll find the best Pokemon for this competition: No team is invincible because everything depends on your opponent's team, which you'll never know until the battle starts.
- Fast Move: Wing Attack
- Charged Moves: Dragon Claw and Blast Burn
- Resistances: Bug, Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Grass, Ground, and Steel
- Weaknesses: Electric, Rock, and Water
In this year's Love Cup, Charizard remains a popular choice, but it's also one of the easiest Pokemon to find on the list.
The easiest moveset for Community Day is the exclusive fast move Wing Attack, which will allow you to generate energy faster than other attacks. Once your charge is full, you may either go with Dragon Claw to force your opponent to use shields or Blast Burn to deal massive damage.
- Fast Move: Waterfall
- Charged Moves: Psychic and Hydro Pump
- Resistances: Fire, Ice, Steel, and Water
- Weaknesses: Electric and Grass
What is the greatest prize to win the Love Cup over a heart-shaped Pokemon? Alomomola it’s a terrific value because it is extremely lightweight and resistant to most eligible Pokemon. Just make sure you keep it away from Grass-type Pokemon.
Waterfall should be your choice for Fast Move because it has substantial damage and benefits from the STAB. Your two best choices for Charged Moves depend on your approach: Psychic is ideal for shield-baiting, while Hydro Pump is effective due to the STAB.
- Fast Move: Counter
- Charged Moves: Power-Up Punch and Psychic
- Resistances: Fighting and Rock
- Weaknesses: Fairy, Flying, and Ghost
Electric and GrassMedicham is a formidable choice as long as you keep its limitations in mind. It requires XL Candy to be viable in the Love Cup and may be in danger of a Fairy-type Pokemon.
Because of the STAB and energy generation, Counter is one of the finest Pokemon Go fast moves. Charged moves will not be as effective as with previous Pokemon in this list, but they provide good coverage.
- Fast Move: Lick
- Charged Moves: Body Slam and Power Whip
- Resistances: Ghost
- Weaknesses: Fighting
Lickitung remains a top-tier option across all Battle Leagues, so it makes for an excellent match for the Pokemon Go Love Cup. You'll need XL Candy and a Legacy Move/Elite Charged TM to make the cut.
Any other technique for this particular match will require Lick as your fast move, while Body Slam (Legacy Move) provides tremendous damage for a low energy cost. Power Whip is ideal for Water-type moves.
- Fast Move: Charm
- Charged Moves: Play Rough and Ice Beam
- Resistances: Bug, Dark, Dragon, and Ghost
- Weaknesses: Poison and Steel
Wigglytuff isn't as good as it used to be, but it's a solid contender for the Pokemon Go Love Cup, as it's one of the few eligible Pokemon that can withstand Lickitung's attacks.
Charm should always be your fast move option, but keep in mind that it doesn't generate much energy, so you may not be able to use many Charged Moves. Either way, Play Rough benefits from STAB, while Ice Beam provides extra coverage.
- Fast Move: Charm
- Charged Moves: Psychic and Thunderbolt
- Resistances: Bug, Dark, Dragon, and Fighting
- Weaknesses: Poison and Steel
Aromatisse has a lot of bulk and is very effective against some of the most powerful eligible Pokemon for the Love Cup.
Charged Moves should be your only option for fast moves, with Psychic and Thunderbolt being recommended. The former will help you deal with Poison-types, while the latter is excellent for Water-types.
- Fast Move: Charm
- Charged Moves: Meteor Mash and Psychic
- Resistances: Dragon, Bug, Dark, and Fighting
- Weaknesses: Poison and Steel
Clefable doesn't seem like a powerful option at first, but it's actually fantastic at defeating the other Pokemon listed above.
Charm should be the chosen Fast Move, like with Wigglytuff and Aromatisse. While Psychic is excellent for shield-baiting, Meteor Mash is excellent for dealing with other Pokemon equipped with Charm, like the powerful Wigglytuf.
Remember to keep your mind on the demands of Fire, Fairy, and Water-type Pokemon for the Love Cup.
