Valparaiso vs Dartmouth Preview

The Dartmouth Big Green kick off their season against the Valparaiso Beacons (1-1) on Saturday.

The Big Green scored a fourth-quarter touchdown to lift Dartmouth to a 28-18 victory last year at home. The Mean Green finished 9-1 last year and finished as co-champions of the Ivy League.

On September 3, the Valparaiso squad won 20-17 over Indiana Wesleyan, an NAIA team. Brian Bartholomew won it for the Beacons on a 50-yard field with 1:36 left in the game.

Valpo Football (@valpoufootball) is scheduled to launch on September 11, 2022.

On September 10, Valparaiso fell short in the second week of the season against Illinois State, 28-21. However, quarterback Mason Kaplan gave his team a chance at a comeback late. Kaplan threw a 14-yard touchdown throw to Evan Jernegan with 2:50 left in the game.

I was disappointed. We missed out on an opportunity to win a football game, according to Beacons head coach Landon Fox via The Pantagraphs Randy Reinhardt.

Dartmouth Football (@DartmouthFTBL) will be released on September 16, 2022.

Dartmouth enters the season with great expectations, aiming for a third-consecutive Ivy League championship. The Big Green returns plenty of talent to make another comeback for the championship.

According to Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens, it's not difficult to win a championship, but it's harder to reclaim a championship. It's the team that plays the best on Saturday that wins. We've learned this from [Cornell University] and [Columbia University].

Senior leadership will be very, very important. Guys who have perhaps not been asked to lead much in the past, it's their time, according to Teevens.
