Season 16 of Apex Legends is approaching, and it is bringing significant changes to the game.
All Legends will have new class passives, and major balance changes will alter both characters and items during the coming season.
Fans and experts are speculating on who will become the dominant players in the meta after the developer's official patch notes.
In a new video, Apex player iiTzTimmy gives his predictions on Season 16's meta, mentioning Legend combos that might dominate the game's ladder, and two specific Legends, Gibraltar and Newcastle, that might be sure-fire picks.
Apex is celebrating its fourth anniversary by giving away Steam Decks, free Legends, and more.
In the video, Watson/Newcastle will appear in the comp, or like Gibraltar/Caustic with obviously like a Skirmisher or Assault [Legend], according to the author. “I think this meta will shift a lot.”
This prediction underscores the importance of class diversity in the next season. In essence, iiTzTimmy stated he expects to see a lot of teams made of one Controller, one Support, and one aggressive Legend (from the Skirmisher or Assault category) in Season 16.
It makes sense that one controller per team might be a preferred strategy in the coming season, which means most of them might include Caustic, Wattson, Catalyst, or Rampart. They are crucial to determining a team's strategy in a match since they have the ability to reveal next rings.
Supports will become even more crucial to a team as they will be able to respawn deceased teammates as well as crafting banners at Replicators. This will be life-changing, as an expired banner will no longer indicate the definitive end of the match for dead players.
“Gibby and Newcastle are going to be in meta,” iiTzTimmy said, referring to Support characters. None of the Supports, which also include Lifeline and Loba, were affected by balance adjustments.
Loba might struggle to maintain her relevance due to several class passives that compete with hers. Lifeline, on the other hand, was nerfed to the ground several months ago. This would mean Gibraltar and Newcastle would have the best chance of becoming the strongest Support characters in Season 16.
In any event, the new classes may be extremely helpful in assisting players in better deciding what exactly will be their roles in their team, thus boosting team synergy.
Season 16 of Apex Legends will be released on February 14.
