The Shadows of Rose DLC for Resident Evil Village was all too brief. Despite walking through the familiar halls of Castle Dimitrescu, there is always a terrifying surprise concealed around every corner. It's equally as powerful as the early moments of Resident Evil Village, and it left me wanting more.
The new character, Rose, soon becomes his next target after rudely interrupting the Masked Marquis as his minions devour his latest victim. Occasionally, these words will turn into valuable items such as extra bullets or healing spray.
Despite my familiarity with Castle Dimitrescu, it has become infected with Mould, a deadly substance that kills Rose after too much exposure. These Face Eaters spawn in dark mould-ridden rooms, where they can appear from practically anywhere, including walls and ceilings. At times, I find their squeaking moans enticing.
Rose is also able to combine items to make bullets and healing spray. Eventually, after somehow failing to get Roses face sucked off by one of the many Face Eater mould monsters, I discover a familiar-looking flask that amplifies Roses abilities. She also can freeze Face Eaters for a short time or counter their attacks if she has enough charges.
When the Resident Evil Village Winters expansion is released on October 28, there's a brief chase sequence where something big and stompy is behind me. Although my time ended not too long after the chase began.
