The Flash's official trailer was released by DC, but it's not the scarlet speedster that caught the fans' attention. For obvious reasons, Michael Keaton's Batman became the show's star.
Batman, played by Ben Affleck, warns Barry Allen that returning in time to save his mother might end the universe. Allen returns to a world where "no metahumans exist," and Superman is now Supergirl, according to the teaser. Michael Keaton, who played the character in Batman Returns, also returned.
Keaton's return has sparked interest in fans since he was supposed to perform in Batgirl, but was rejected by Warner Bros. last year. After 30 years of separation, fans are glad to see him back in the suit.
Keaton's announcement also sparked outrage among fans who were dissatisfied with his return to the role. Not only that, but he's wearing the same iconic outfit from all those years ago. Miller was subject to numerous controversy in 2022 and was recently charged with burglary back in mid-January.
The Flash has had its production delays, which resulted in the film's release date being postponed. Fans wondered why the Flash wasn't removed from the DCU as well. DC's new co-chief, James Gunn, revealed that The Flash would play a role in relaunching the DCU.
On June 16, 2023, The Flash will be released in cinemas.
