During the Super Bowl on Sunday, fans saw Pete Davidson perform as Mirage in a Transformer role, and it appears that the SNL veteran has earned their approval.
With the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts x Porsche trailer, viewers were given a sneak peek at the film's upcoming film. Mirage, an Autobot that transforms into a Porsche 911, is also voiced by Davidson.
Davidson's participation in the film may be understandable as these are popular characters that we'd like to see treated on the big screen. However, after seeing him play him, many have changed their minds, or at least decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.
Some are still undecided whether or not to include the comedian in the film, as others were baffled by the choice to include him in the cast. Others joked about the actor's tendency to date every available woman in Hollywood.
Mirage actually played Sam in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, although his design was different and he was not voiced by Davidson. According to the trailer, the Autobot appears to be a more significant character this time around; in the same way as Bumblebee was to Sam in the first Transformers.
Regardless, the general buzz surrounding the Davidson's role in the film is positive, and many are eager to see the film.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be released in cinemas on June 9th 2023.
