Sheryl Lee Ralph, an Emmy winner, plays Barbara Howard on the Abbott Elementary program. She's a teacher who loves her students very much, but she doesn't seem to like Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson), but she's now revealing who she really wanted to play in the show.
Ralph mentioned this to Brunson before the series began, and she then shared her reaction to the media, saying, "Oh, yeah!" Ralph said. We need a queen for Barbara Howard! And I was like, Baby, what do I need to know about that? I'll be the queen. I'm ready.
Brunson received an Emmy for her performance as Barbara Howard and said to Variety that she was on another planet. It was a huge success that made fans over the entire cast and crew alike. It also demonstrated how Abbott Elementary can continue to have a bright future with its longer second season.
Ralph continued, "I think I'm on the planet 999."
"I feel like im just floating up there," says the woman who got up and turned on the television. And I opened my eyes. And first of all, Emmy, right beside me. And I could hear myself singing as they talked. Everything has gone smoothly.
"I feel like Im just floating up there, having an out of body experience. I know something has happened because the glitter has fallen off my face. But the reaction has been crazy. My husband and I went to the hotel and he got up and turned on the television." And then I realized, I could see myself singing as they talked. And then I thought, What happened in the last 12 hours?
